Pheasant Plucker
Description
Based on the original Davenports recipe this carefully pronounced classic ale is full-bodied, rich in malt and fruit and balanced by a satisfyingly hoppy bitter finish. Bitterness is provided by First Gold, Cascade and Styrian Goldings hops with the malts giving a rich copper colour.
Ingredients: Pale, Crystal Torrefied and black malts, Challenger, First Gold, Cascade and Styrian Goldings hops.
Brewing started at Highgate in 1898. In 1939 it was taken over by Mitchells & Butler and eventually became part of Bass. Having been under threat of closure for several years it was purchased by a management buyout in 1995. Taken over during 2000 by Aston Manor.
